Serge Lutens has been called ‘an image maker of genius’. Photographer, make-up artist, interior and set designer, creator of perfumes, fashion designer, he has been art director at Shisheido for many years and contributes regularly to publications such as Elle, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and many others.
He began his career in 1963 working for French Vogue and then moved to Dior at the age of 27. Having worked with greats such as Bob Richardson, Richard Avedon, Guy Bourdin, and Irving Penn, he was acclaimed for his striking, inimitable style. He later joined with Shiseido, where is has been ‘image creator’ for many years, combining European refinement and orientalism exoticism. This is a very collectible and stunning 1998 book for Editions Assouline.
Unfortunately there is some damage to this book. (see photos for condition) The slipcover has a torn spot on the front bottom area but it is still intact and there are some small stains. The binding is partially coming apart and can probably be repaired easily. Vision Publishing card is in mint condition. The pages…wow! No pages are missing and they are all in almost perfect condition. Exquisite photography!
